Its name, which means “skewer” in Japanese, reflects its essential design: a soft, luminous blown glass sphere pierced by a slender metal rod. A harmonious contrast, capable of engaging with space and creating intimate, evocative atmospheres.
For this milestone, a special project has been conceived: a collective visual exploration that entrusts a group of photographers with the task of interpreting its essence, through their own artistic vision. VZNstudio curated the selection of photographers and led the project, encouraging diverse perspectives and an experimental approach.
“Kushi is not just a design object; it is a narrative element, a point of connection between humans, space, and light. This relationship is at the heart of the photographic project ‘Reflections of Light,’ where each photographer interprets the lamp through their own sensitivity, exploring different layers of meaning and choosing the location and visual context that best suit their storytelling. In every shot, Kushi becomes a medium for expressing the eternal dialogue between light and matter, between form and space—a silent presence that transforms the perception of the surrounding world.” VZNstudio
The images in this collection are the result of a journey that bridges past and future, memory and vision. Each photographer has embraced a unique perspective, exploring the power of light in their own way. A tribute to Kushi, to its ability to inspire, and to the light that, for ten years, has continued to ignite new possibilities.
